Electric Vehicle Guides

What is The Difference Between Our Charge Points?

You probably know all of the benefits of driving an electric car by now. Well, why else would you be here? But perhaps now you’re confused about the best charge point for you.

You’ve come to the right place. Here we will discuss the two different charge points we offer and what the differences are between them. It’s important to remember that charging times and costs will also vary from model to model, so be sure to check out our vehicle-specific guides, too!

Our charge points

3.6kWh Charge Point

The cost of our lowest price charger is £229 with the government-funded OLEV grant. This price is inclusive of VAT, installation and warranty so you don’t have to worry about any hidden costs! So what do you need to know about the 3.6kWh charger? Well…

  • It’s 1.6x faster than a standard 3-pin plug
  • You’ll get 15 miles of range for every hour of charge
  • All electric plug-in vehicles are viable
  • There’s a 3-year warranty
  • Universal Socket or Tethered

7kWh Charge Point Plus+

Our higher end charger is only slightly more expensive than the 3.9kWh. The 7kWh charger will cost £279 if you are eligible for the OLEV grant. Again, this includes the cost of installation, warranty and VAT so there’s no nasty surprises. Here are some of the stats you need to know:

  • It’s 3x faster than a standard 3-pin plug
  • You’ll get 30 miles of range per hour
  • It works with all plug-in vehicles
  • Universal Socket or Tethered
  • A 3-year warranty is included

Our recommendation

Which charge point you decide to invest in will ultimately depend on your lifestyle and the electric vehicle you own. If you’re purchasing a brand new model with a larger battery, it’ll definitely benefit you to own the 7kWh charger as this can charge much more efficiently. However, if your EV has a smaller battery and you spend a lot of time at home, the 3.6kWh charger will be more than enough. If you spend a lot of time on the roads and need to ensure your car can be charged much more quickly, we recommend a 7kW charger. Of course, it all comes down to your budget and what works best for you.
